Meghalaya CM inspects site of National Games

TURA, June 12 - Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma inspected the site for construction of a multi-utility indoor stadium at Dalmagre near here on Tuesday. State Home Minister James Sangma and Sports Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh accompanied him.

The stadium is part of the infrastructural development programme initiated by the Government in preparation of the National Games to be hosted by the State in 2022.

In order to improve connectivity, a four-lane highway is being proposed to connect the Games site with the main town of Tura.

The Chief Minister also held a meeting with the village headman and landowners to seek their cooperation for smooth progress of the project.
