Shillong, Aug 9 (IANS): Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Wednesday condoled the death of 31 people killed in a bus accident in the state's East Jaintia Hills district.
Twenty-seven other passengers were injured. The vehicle rolled down a hill in Tongseng area, about 150 km from Shillong, early Wednesday. The bus was on its way from Guwahati to Agartala.
Sangma said he has directed the district administration to extend all possible help to the injured. He wished them speedy recovery. He expressed his sympathy to the victims' families.
