Meghalaya autonomous dist polls on Feb 27

SHILLONG, Dec 21 - Election to two autonomous district councils in Meghalaya will be held on February 27, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said today.

The district councils are the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), Tynsong added.

�The Cabinet meeting held last evening and chaired by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has approved of a proposal made by the District Council Affairs Department to hold elections to the two district councils in February,� Tynsong told PTI.
