Meeting reviews implementation of schemes in Kamrup (Metro)

GUWAHATI, July 8 - A meeting of the Kamrup (Metro) District Development and Monitoring Committee was held on Saturday here under the chairmanship of Guwahati Lok Sabha MP Bijoya Chakravarty.

It was attended by Education and Guwahati Development Department Minister and East Guwahati MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Dispur MLA Atul Bora, West Guwahati MLA RN Kalita, GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania, Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal, senior officials and heads of various departments.

The meeting reviewed all the schemes of the government in the district, including the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM-G), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), Integrated Water Shed Management Programme (IWMP), Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), National Health Mission, Mid-Day Meal Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

Officials informed during the meeting that till March this year, a total of 17,809 families got LPG connection under the Ujjwala Yojana in the district out of the total target of 20,097 families. Under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana, 17 out of the 23 selected villages have been brought under total electrification so far.
