Meeting at AEC discusses ways to benefit society

GUWAHATI, March 10 - A multi-stakeholder meeting was held at Assam Engineering College here today where the participants discussed ways to improve the college and how it can benefit the society.

Ajay Tiwari, principal secretary, Higher Education, government of Assam, was present as the chief guest at the meeting where alumni from India and abroad, parents and guardians, faculty members and students took part.

AEC principal Dr Atul Bora made a presentation on the status of the college. Abhijit Bhuyan, managing director of Bohniman Systems, laid stress on starting pilot projects which would benefit the society, while social worker Sanjib Sabhapandit spoke on developing a mechanism to receive inputs from stakeholders. Madhuchanda Adhikari, manager for corporate communications at Numaligarh Refinery Limited, spoke on organising social outreach schemes for the benefit of the society.
