SHILLONG, May 20 � Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) in collaboration with Meghalaya Government would hold an interaction session here on Thursday to promote the development of plastic processing industry in the Northeastern States.
Surjit K Chaudhary, Secretary, Chemical and Petrochemical, would be present along with representatives from Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Eenterprises, DoNER, BPCL and FICCI. BPCL is executing a major gas cracker project in the NE.
The project is likely to be commissioned by June 2015 and will have a capacity of 2,20,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of polyethylene and 60,000 TPA of polypropylene. The Government of India has invested about Rs 10,000 crore in this project, officials said. � Correspondent
