Meet on neuro-linguistic programming

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 25 - With a view to imbibing entrepreneurial skills in students, Sajjad Zaheer Hussain, a cricketer-turned social entrepreneur from Assam, organised a couple of interactions with the students of Gauhati University and the Cotton College on neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).

The interaction programme was also participated by Tarun Bajaj, a young entrepreneur and a successful business banker from Melbourne, Australia, a press release stated.

Sajjad, a former cricketer and a National Cricket Academy coach, said that NLP is a new approach to communication, psychotherapy and personal development, and a must to scale heights in the national and international milieu.

NLP is a connection between the neurological processes (neuro), language (linguistic) and behavioural patterns learned through experience (programming) and that these can be changed to achieve specific goals in life. NLP is a proven medium of successful communication in various parts of the western world. It was started in the USA in the 1970s, said Sajjad who is also a certified NLP coach.

Tarun Bajaj, he said, is an alumnus of Saint Anthonys Higher Secondary School, Shillong and comes from a renowned business family in Shillong.

Sajjad hoped that students would be able to learn about the real life challenges outside the structured life of schools and universities via the medium of NLP which will imbibe the entrepreneurial spirit in them and inspire better decision making and leadership qualities with proven interpersonal communication skills.
