Meet on clean, green village at Nagrijuli

GORESWAR, Feb 23 - A meet was held on clean village and green village at Nagrijuli market under Tamulpur Sub-division in Baksa district on Friday.

It was organised by Nagrijuli Block Development Office in association with Baksa district District Rural Development Agency. The meeting was anchored by Mrinal Das, accountant of Nagrijuli Block Development Office.

Interacting with the public of Bhauraguri village on implementation of developmental schemes of the Government, Himalay Sarma, representative of the Chief Minister�s Office (CMO) said that the government has adopted Bhauraguri as a model village for the clean and green village scheme.

He also interacted with representatives of self-help groups present in the meeting and encouraged them to develop their groups so as to become economically sound.

He also spoke with the public on old- age pension, financial aid to SHGs, Atal Amrit Yojana, PMAY, MGNREGA etc.

Pradip Sarkar, VCDC chairman of Nagrijuli highlighted some perennial problems of village Bhauraguri as well as the area and requested the higher authority to help in mitigating the said problems.

Niranjan Deka, BRCC of the PHE Department spoke on sanitation and pure drinking water in the meeting. He also said that the public should come forward to avail benefits of the government schemes. The schemes will be successful only with the active cooperation of the general public, he clarified.

Dharma Narayan Das, MCLA of Nagrijuli BTC constituency also took part in the meeting and delivered his speech and supported the government�s move to make Bhauraguri a swachh village. He added that the entire area had already become 80 percent sanitised, while the various government departments were trying to enhance it to 100 percent. Krishna Sikdar, TCLCC chairman of Nagrijuli Block also spoke in the meeting.

Dimpy Gogoi, Assistant Commissioner, Jyotish Kakati, BDO of Nagrijuli BDO Office and Labanya Kumar Das, APO of Baksa DRDA were present along with VCDC chairmen of various VCDCs and BPF leaders of Nagrijuli Block, besides members of the public.
