KOKRAJHAR, March 12 - A meeting of all the political parties of the five BTC segments in Kokrajhar Sadar Subdivision was held at the DC�s conference hall this evening.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar Partha Pratim Majumdar, who is also the Returning Officer of Kokrajhar. All the AROs and other senior officers also attended the meeting along with representatives of almost all the political parties.

The meeting discussed various issues like strict maintenance of election code of conduct and the law-and-order situation during BTC election in the district.

District Returning Officer, Kokrajhar also announced various steps being taken by the district administration for smooth conduct of election that will go to polls on April 4. Majumdar appealed to all political parties to observe the model code of conduct and other guidelines of the State Election Commission.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated that peace and communal harmony in the district must be maintained at any cost. He requested the leaders present to spread the message of peace and communal harmony and extend their help and cooperation to the civil and police administration in maintaining peace, tranquillity and communal harmony in the district during the polls.
