Meet on 7th CPC

AGARTALA, March 31 - Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb held a meeting with the panel for implementing the 7th CPC headed by PP Verma, former Assam Chief Secretary here, today.

The panel was constituted to provide the 7th CPC to the State Government employees and pensioners, one of the poll promises of the ruling BJP. Currently, around two lakh employees and pensioners are receiving pay and pension at par with the 4th CPC.

The BJP-IPFT alliance Government in its first Cabinet meeting had decided to constitute a three-member committee to suggest how to implement the 7th CPC. The committee is supposed to submit its report by the next three months. The Tripura Government will require an amount of Rs 1,459.51 crore annually to implement the 7th CPC, sources said.
