GUWAHATI, April 23 - The media fraternity will remember journalist Simanta Bhagawati, who passed away on April 21 following a massive stroke, in a meeting to be held at Guwahati Press Club on Friday next.

It may be noted that Simanta, 53, was also a sportsman and suffered the stroke on April 19 while playing tennis at the India Club here. He was associated with The Assam Tribune till May last year. A man of humour, Simanta leaves behind his wife, a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers.

Journalist Forum Assam (JFA) has appealed to everyone within the media fraternity to join in the memorial meet from 3 pm of April 27 in the Press Club auditorium. This was stated in a press release.
