Meet held on banking codes

GUWAHATI, April 22 - A customer meet was organized by Banking Codes and Standards Board of India (BCSBI) here and it was attended by a large number of retail and micro and small enterprise (MSE) customers from local branches of all major banks operating in the city.

The meet held on Thursday was addressed by Anand Aras, chief executive officer of BCSBI, PVSLN Murty, chief general manager, SBI, NE Circle and Gopika Arora, assistant vice president, CIBIL.

The BCSBI was set up by the Reserve Bank of India based on Tarapore Committee recommendations and it started functioning from February 2006. The BCSBI has been arranging such customer meets on a regular basis to provide a platform for interface between customers, bank officials, banking ombudsman, senior functionaries from the RBI and CIBIL with a view to exchanging views and ideas relating to implementation of various banking codes of conduct.
