ITANAGAR, Aug 18 - The office of Medical Superintendent of General Hospital, Aalo in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh was vandalised by a group of people.
The incident occurred following a reported denial of the hospital�s ambulance by the medical superintendent to lift a body of a man, who died in a road accident at Aalo on Wednesday.
Arunachal State Branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Arunachal Pradesh Doctors Association (APDA) have vehemently condemned the incident.
The IMA demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and for awarding them exemplary punishment. It said, the doctors working in the hospital should be provided with adequate security so that they could perform their duty without any mental disturbance.
The IMA also appealed to the State Government to enact a stringent law like, Arunachal Pradesh Protection of Medical Service Persons and Medical Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss of Property) Act so that such incidents are prevented in future.
