GUWAHATI, Sept 29 - The All Assam Media Workers Union will stage a protest at Chachal here on Wednesday in support of their various demands.
The demands include exemption from tax and increase in the rate of government advertisements, among others.
The union in a press statement on Tuesday stated that the newspaper industry has incurred losses due to reduction in advertisement revenues. It has also been affected by the fake news circulated on various platforms that newspapers carry the virus.
�Like other industries, the government should declare a stimulus package for the State newspaper industry immediately,� the statement added.
