GUWAHATI, Feb 26 � The semifinal line up has been drawn in the Star Cement ASJA Media Cup T20 Cricket Tournament.
In the first semifinal tomorrow host Assam Sports Journalists Association (ASJA) will play against Electronic Media while in the second semifinal Barak Upatyaka Krira Sangbadik Sangsthan will lock horns with Media Management XI.
In the preliminary group league matches played at the Nehru Stadium here today, The Barak sports scribes earned a deserving three-wicket victory against Assam Photo Journalists Association while Electronic team downed Guwahati Media XI by six wickets.
Chasing a target of 135 set by the photo journalists, the Barak team scored 137 for seven. Anupam Roy remained unbeaten on 56. At one stage the Barak team was in trouble losing wickets at regular intervals. But Anupam saw the day through for his team with some responsible batting. His 43-ball knock was studded with four boundaries and a six.
In the low scoring second encounter, the Guwahati Media team managed to score 92 for eight in 20 overs and the Electronic batsmen did not have to face any trouble in chasing the target.
