Media Adviser to CM calls on eminent personalities

GUWAHATI, April 30 - As a part of the government bid to reach out to people, Media Adviser to the Chief Minister Hrishikesh Goswami today called on a number of intellectuals, litterateurs, journalists, artistes and eminent personalities, talked to them and took stock of their health condition.

While spending time with them, Goswami apprised them of the steps the Government of Assam has been taking to deal with the COVID-19 situation. On behalf of the government, he also expressed his gratitude to these personalities for their role in educating the people on following social distancing norms.

Goswami today met The Assam Tribune editor Prafulla Govinda Baruah at the latter�s residence here and enquired about his health and wellbeing. Goswami thanked him for the role the Assam Tribune Group of Newspapers has been playing in sensitising the public on the need to break the chain of transmission of the dreaded virus in the State.

Goswami also met writer-journalist Homen Borgohain, artist Neel Pawan Baruah, poet Nilamani Phukan, actress Anupama Bhattacharjee, cartoonist Troilokya Dutta and talked to them on COVID-19 and the State�s response to mitigate the problem, besides enquiring about their wellbeing.

The Media Adviser also met the Deka Satriya of Barpeta Satra Nabajit Das, who is recuperating from his illness at the Apollo Hospitals here and wished him a speedy recovery.
