MBRS, EMRS, SFS win basketball titles

GUWAHATI, Sept 9 - The CBSE Cluster-I U-17 and 19 Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament being hosted and organised by Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS), Borjhar came to an end yesterday.

Hosts MBRS and Ekalavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Sikkim won the championship in the U-17 and 19 girls categories respectively while St. Francis De Sales (SFS), Narengi clinched the boys U-17 and 19 crowns.

In the closing function prizes were given away jointly by the Chief Guest Sheikh Nisar Ahmed, international athlete and Dr NK Dutta, founder and Principal, MBRS.

Champions: (Boys U-17) SFS, Narengi; (Girls U-17) MBRS, Borjhar; (Boys U-19) SFS, Narengi; (Girls U-19) EMRS, Sikkim. Runners ups: (Boys U-17) MBRS, Borjhar; (Girls U-17) SFS, Narengi; (Boys U-19) EMRS, Sikkim; (Girls U-19) MBRS, Borjhar. Third position holders: (Boys U-17) Army School, Narengi; (Girls U-17) Faculty Higher Secondary School, Amingaon; (Boys U-19) Axel Public School, Guwahati; (Girls U-19) South Point School, Guwahati.

Best players of the tournament: (Boys U-17) Akam Marlin Babla, MBRS, Borjhar; (Girls U-17) Hiramoni Kherkatary, MBRS, Borjhar; (Boys U-19) Sudhir Kr Verma, St Francis De Sales, Narengi; (Girls U-19) Hissay Gyalmoo Tamang, Eklavya Model Residential School, Sikkim.
