Mathematics Olympiad on Sept 4

GUWAHATI, Aug 11 - The Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM) will organise its State-level mathematics talent search competition, popularly known as Mathematics Olympiad (MO), in 44 centres across the State on September 4 from 11 am to 2 pm.

The competition will be held in three categories - students of classes V-VI (category I), classes VII-VIII (category II) and classes IX-X-XI (category III). The change in the eligibility criteria of students for the competition has been made in accordance with the national mathematics olympiad programmes.

The prescribed application form for the competition containing the list of centres and the names and addresses of the respective centre coordinators has been uploaded in the website of Assam Academy of Mathematics. The intending competitors may download the application forms from the website or can personally collect them from the coordinators of their choice, a press release stated.

The filled-in forms must reach the coordinators on or before August 25 along with examination fee of Rs 100 per candidate.

Toppers in category II and category III will be eligible for memorial awards and certificates. Certificates of merit and appreciation will also be awarded to other candidates who achieve minimum standard of marks, said a press release.
