BONGAIGAON, Sept 11 - The Bodoland Movement Group organised a mass demonstration on Tuesday at Kasikotra Higher Secondary School playground in Chirang district seeking a separate Bodoland.

The group includes the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), Peoples Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement (PJACBM) and the National Democratic Front of Boroland (Progressive).

The Government has created a Telengana state, bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir into Union Territories, now it is time to create Bodoland, said ABSU president Pramod Boro while addressing over 10,000 movement group activists and people gathered at the demonstration venue today.

No government can sustain by depriving the Bodos of their rights, so the government should address the Bodoland issue in no time to bring lasting peace in the State, said NDFB (P) president Gobinda Chandra Basumatary before the media.

The Government should leave aside the divide and rule policy and solve the Bodoland issue, said former Raijya Sabha MP Urkhaw Gwra Brahma.

The ABSU president slammed sitting MP of Kokrajhar Naba Kumar Sarania for his divisive politics between Bodos and non-Bodos and opposed Saranias plan to form BTAD Sena for the protection of non-Bodos residing in BTAD.
