Masks made from gamosa at Dathkala village draw attention

BISWANATH CHARIALI, March 17 - At a time when the people have been thronging the markets to buy medicated masks in the wake of coronavirus outbreak across the world, masks made from gamosa have been able to draw the attention of many.

According to information, a couple at Dathkala village under Bakari Dalani Gaon Panchayat under Gohpur Sub-Division in Biswanath district has started production of masks from gamosa. The couple, Sangeeta Pradhan and Phanindra Pradhan, is busy these days in their cutting and knitting establishment namely �DK Artisan� to meet the demands of these masks and orders are reportedly pouring in from Nagaon to Arunachal Pradesh.

Phanindra Pradhan said that eight masks can be made from one gamosa and each one is sold at Rs 50. Before handing over to the customers, it is sanitised properly and then ironed, he said. Four others � Babita Singh, Tina Pradhan, Jonmani Das and Renuka Pradhan � have been providing a helping hand to the couple in producing the masks.
