Marwari body project for underprivileged children

GUWAHATI, Sept 18 - Marwari Yuva Manch, Guwahati branch, as part of its �Khushiyon ki Udaan� programme initiated a unique project to bring change in the lives of children hailing from the less privileged section of society.

�We are happy to share that we are taking 20 less privileged children of the Avas Foundation to Kolkata by air today. Our endeavour is to give these children the experience of their lives � which will not only give them happiness and joy, but also kindle their desire to work hard and achieve their dreams,� informed project convener Rajeev Chandak.

The trip to take some underprivileged children of Guwahati to Kolkata was planned about a month ago, he said.

Amit Agarwal, national president of the All India Marwari Yuva Manch, said, �This kind of project will act as a catalyst of hope for the kids� future, to engrain the idea that nothing is impossible.�

Sumeet Sethi, executive member, said, �We are trying to give wings to their dreams. Apart from the flying experience, it will also be a fun trip for the kids with mall shopping, food of their choice at food courts and amusement park in a daylong trip to Kolkata�.

President of the branch Shyam Khemka said that the �Khushiyon ki Udaan� project is supported by the Avas Foundation, which is headed by Ruchika Khadaria as its president. The Foundation was established in the year 2008 by Pomi Baruah and Romy Baruah. Its main objective is overall development of the less privileged women and children.

The Foundation runs four centres under the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) of the Government of India.
