Maoist links with Adivasi outfit found

TEZPUR, Nov 5 � The Maoists have established links with a burgeoning insurgent outfit raised in Sonitpur district through ULFA, police said.

�This was revealed during the interrogation of Tarjan Majhi, the Sonitpur district commander of the fledging unit, Adivasi People�s Army,� they said.

Majhi was arrested with five others on Wednesday at Bhairabguri under Dhekiajuli police station near here.

Majhi claimed that an ULFA self-styled sergeant Major Das had provided arms training to APA cadre in Majbat area of Udalguri district and helped them contact the Maoists.

The APA district commander from Gossaigaon in Kokrajhar district claimed he had recruited a large number of APA members and procured a some firearms. � PTI
