GUWAHATI, Sept 2 - Various factors have caused delay in completion of the South-West Guwahati Water Supply Project, Guwahati Development Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya said in the Assembly today in reply to a question raised by MLA Debabrata Saikia.
At present around 96 per cent work of the project has been completed and the government has reset the deadline to complete it by July 2022. The government also took steps against the contractors as per norms cited in the tender for the delay in completion of the project, the minister said.
Bhattacharya further stated that around 64 per cent work of the water supply project funded by JICA is over and the deadline for its completion has been deferred to July 2022.
