GUWAHATI, March 24 - Local boy Manthan Kashyap Datta created sensation in the 3rd round of the Assam Down Town University International Open Rating Chess Tournament today holding second seeded Appollosana Mangam Rajkumar of Manipur in a well fought contest that lasted over three hours.

On the other hand unseeded Dhrupad Kashyap of GTC Chess Foundation upset 5th seed CH Meghna of Kerala in a keenly contested match.

After completion of the first three rounds a group of 11 players are in the lead with three points each. They are followed by a group of four players with 2.5 points each.
