GUWAHATI, April 22 - A team of Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel today today arrived in the city and carried out security checks at the polling station set up in the Dispur Govt HS School, where former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will exercise his franchise in the third phase polling of Lok Sabha elections tomorrow.
According to sources, Dr Singh along with wife Gursharan Kaur will arrive at the LGBI Airport around 2 pm on Tuesday and directly move to the polling station. After casting their vote, they will move to their rented house located in Sarumotoria area to take rest for some time. The SPG team today carried out security checks in the premises of the Sarumotoria house, too.
Dr Singh and his wife are electors in the Dispur LAC segment of the Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency. By evening, they will return to New Delhi.
