Manju Barkataki gold medal award today

JALUKBARI, Jan 17 - The First Manju Rani (Goswami) Barkataki Memorial Gold Medal Award Ceremony, 2016 will be held tomorrow at the Phanidhar Datta Seminar Hall, Gauhati University.

State Governor and GU Chancellor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya will attend the function as the chief guest. GU Vice Chancellor Dr Mridul Hazarika will inaugurate the event.

Mrs Barbara Allen, former mayor of Seaham, Durham, England will be present as a special guest. Prof HP Sarmah, Rector GU, will also be present.

The programme is being jointly organised by the Department of Anthropology, GU and the Gauhati University Overseas Association. Manju Rani Goswami Barkataki was the winner of University Gold Medal in anthropology department of GU in 1968.
