Manipur�s recovery rate climbs to 77 pc

IMPHAL, Sept 30 - Altogether 421 patients have been discharged from 11 COVID care facilities in Manipur in the past 24 hours, jacking up the recovery rate in the State to 77.502 per cent.

It was stated by Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, spokesperson and Additional Director of the Health Department, in a press release today.

In the last 24 hours, two men, aged 41 years and 58 years, from Thoubal and Imphal West districts expired at the Shija Hospital, which took the deaths toll to 67, it said.

A total of 206 civilians, including 85 women, and 33 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel tested positive at 21 COVID testing facilities, including RIMS and JNIMS, in the last 24 hours, the release added.

Seven civilians are returnees from other States while the rest are without any travel history, the release added. All of them are being shifted to COVID care facilities.

The total number of positive cases in Manipur now stands at 10,983 while the cumulative number of discharged cases is 8,460, the release stated. The number of active cases is 2,456, it informed.

As per latest SOP issued by the State Government, asymptomatic patients will be discharged from COVID care centres after 10 days and there will be no retest before discharge.
