IMPHAL, March 26 - The 23-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur, is showing signs of improvement, according to senior State health officials who are monitoring her condition. The patient, who tested positive on March 24, had returned from England recently. She is currently undergoing treatment at an isolation ward in the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) here.
Meanwhile, the State Health authority is taking all possible steps to prevent further spread of the virus. Following State Government�s directive, some individuals who were her co-passengers have voluntarily come forward to stay at quarantine centres set up by the State Government.
As per the latest information from State Health Directorate, around 190 individuals were lodged at the quarantine centres.
Meanwhile, the Ethno Heritage Council has expressed serious concern over the hardships faced by the general public in view of the total lockdown and subsequent curfew imposed in the State.
Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan has announced that he would be distributing rice and pulses among the needy people of his constituency.
Earlier, Sagolband MLA RK Imo Singh had also stated that he would distribute rice free of cost among people of his constituency.
The Manipur State Power Distribution Corporation Ltd has announced opening of an online recharge facility through their website (http://www.mspdcl.com) for prepaid power consumers in the State after the corporation decided to close down its vending stations till further notification.
