GUWAHATI, Aug 20 - The Assam Manipuri Sahitya Parishad (AMSP), Kamrup District Committee observed the 29th Manipuri Language Day at Sri Sri Radha Krishna Mandir, Narengi today.
Col KB Singha (retired) was the chief guest of the occasion. Huirem Hengango Singha, president, AMSP Kamrup District Committee, presided over the function. Social worker and life member of the Parishad Thokchom Ngouba and president of Manipuri National Council Dhan Kumar Singha were also present as guests of honour.
The participants spoke about the significance of the Manipuri Language Day and various problems faced by the Manipuri people at present.
A poets� meet was also organised on the occasion in which several poets took part. Dr Phuristsabam Birmani moderated the programme.
