Manipur virus tally mounts to 289

IMPHAL, Dec 1 - Eight more persons � one from Imphal West, three from Imphal East, two from Bishnupur, one from Ukhrul and one from Kangpokpi � have died of COVID-19 in Manipur. The virus toll in the State now stands at 289.

Meanwhile, with 198 new cases, the COVID-19 tally has reached 25,243 in Manipur, official sources said.

An official release today stated that 156 civilians and 42 security personnel tested positive for COVID-19 at 25 testing facilities during the last 24 hours.

Moreover, 152 persons were discharged from 13 COVID care facilities in the past 24 hours, the release added.

The cumulative numbers of active and recovered cases are 3,236 and 21,718 respectively, it added. The recovery rate is 86.03 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Manipur State Health Department has launched a sero-survey in four districts namely Churachandpur, Imphal West, Kakching and Ukhrul from November 30, official sources said.
