IMPHAL,Sept 27 - Manipur reported 248 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking its tally to 10,299 on Sunday.
In the last 24 hours, 180 persons from the general population and 68 personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) were detected positive, said Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, spokesperson of the Health department. All the fresh cases were detected in Imphal West, Imphal East, Ukhrul, Chandel, Thoubal, Bishnupur,Kakching, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Kamjong, Senapati, Jiribam and Tamenglong. During the period, 195 persons were also discharged from eight COVID care facilities after they were found to be negative. The number of active and recovered cases are 2,359 and 7,876 respectively. The recovery rate is also 76.47 per cent in Manipur. As of Sunday, 3,80,773 persons were screened at various entry points of the State, while 2,31,305 individuals were conducted test for COVID-19 at various testing centres, official sources said.
