IMPHAL, July 24 - A State level tripartite monitoring committee constituted by Manipur Government is looking into the Majithia wage board recommendations for journalists for its implementation in the newspaper establishments in the State.
Deputy Labour Commissioner E Tomba Singh on Saturday informed that efforts are on to implement the recommendations in the near future as the newspaper establishments in the State are yet to implement it.
Tomba said that the State Government has appointed three inspectors as per the direction of the Supreme Court to monitor the newspaper establishments for implementation of the award.
He appealed to journalists aggrieved by the non-implementation of the award to make application to the Government for recovery of amount due to them from their employers.
