Manipur to host 27th NE Games from April 8

IMPHAL, April 4 � Manipur is all set to host the 27th edition of the North East Games at the Khuman Lampak sports complex here from April 8 to 11. More than 2, 000 players and officials from the seven north-eastern States would be competing in the five-day event in 10 different disciplines, according to Director Youth Affairs and Sports Department Ashok Kumar.

The players will compete in disciplines like athletic, boxing, judo, weightlifting, football, badminton, wushu, table tennis, hockey and taekwondo. With a firm determination to retain the overall champions title, Manipur players have been practising hard. GA Sanatomba has been appointed Chef-de-Mission for the Manipur contingent.
