IMPHAL, Nov 29 � India-B (Manipur team) retained the champion title in the 8th Manipur Polo International 2014 defeating South Africa 7-5 in the final match of the eight day polo tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung, oldest living pologround in Imphal this afternoon.
Manipur Govenor KK Paul was the chief guest of the final match of the tournament which was started from November 22 as part of the ongoing Manipur Sangai Festival, the biggest tourism carnival of the State named after Sangai, the brow antlered deer found only at Keibul Lamjao, the only floating national park in the country in Bishnupur district, held in Imphal.
A total of eight International polo teams including United States, England, Mongolia, Thailand, South Africa, France, Poland and Indian Polo Association participated in the weeklong tourney which was organized by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo association.
