Manipur task force deliberates on new education policy

IMPHAL, Nov 21 - The first sitting of the State Task Force for implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Manipur was held on Friday.

The meeting, which was held at the conference hall of SSA at Babupara in Imphal West district, was chaired by Education Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh. In the meeting, the State Task Force minutely discussed ways and means for expeditious and successful implementation of the new education policy in the State.

The meeting also discussed about holding awareness programmes in order to acquaint the general public with the policy. Finalisation of a realistic and workable roadmap and constitution of sub-committees of the task force were also discussed during the meeting.

Commissioner (Higher and Technical Education and SCERT) M Harekrishna, Commissioner (Education-S/Adult Education) T Ranjit Singh, Director (University and Higher Education) Ragitabali Waikhom, Joint Secretary (HTE & Registrar, DMU) Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Director (Education-S) L Nandakumar Singh, Director (SCERT) Dr M Meenakumari Devi and other officials of the department were present during the discussion.
