Manipur soldier among 29 in missing IAF plane

IMPHAL, July 24 - A para commando personnel from Manipur was among the 29 missing personnel in Indian Air Force AN 32 plane carrying 29 personnel which disappeared over Bay of Bengal soon after take off from Chennai air base for Port Blair in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, on Friday.

The young personnel was identified as H Ginzasiam(23) of Churachandpur district headquarter. Ginzansiam belongs to 15 Assam Regiment.

The report of the incident was conveyed to his family at Dorcas Veng locality under New Lamka by a colleague in the Assam Regiment unit, according to sources here. The plane which took off around 8.30 am was scheduled to reach at around 11.30 am.

He left his home town Churachandpur on July 16 for his new posting at Port Blair, family sources said. Earlier, he was posted in J&K.

Ginzasiam�s family awaits update on the young para commando who was aboard the IAF carrier along with 11 air force personnel, eight civilian family members, one Navy, one Coast Guard and one army soldier.
