Manipur scribes awarded

IMPHAL, Nov 16 - The Manipur State Journalist Awards for 2019 were presented to eight journalists of the State under different categories. This year�s Best Editor Award on National Integration and Communal Harmony was conferred on Nepram Krishnamohon Singh, Joint Editor of Sanaleibak, a vernacular newspaper.

The awards were distributed during the first session of the National Press Day function held at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (IPR) Hall here today.

IPR Minister Th Biswajit Singh, who is also the spokesperson of the ruling front in Manipur, was the chief guest of the function. MANITRON and MANIDCO chairman Yumnam Radheshyam presided over the function. IPR Director H Balkrishna, officials and journalists were present on the occasion.

The award-winning journalists are Nomita Khongbantabam (rural reporting) and Asem Babycha Devi (science and technology) of Hueiyen Lanpao, Taorem Bishwajit Singh of Sanaleibak, Sagolsem Bigyan (special reference to women and children) of The People�s Chronicle, RK Bullu Singh (art and culture) and Heigrujam Sadananda Singh (sports) of Poknapham, and Khwairakpam Naoba (public health and hygiene) of ISTV News.
