Manipur schools to remain closed till March 31

IMPHAL, March 12 - The Manipur Government has ordered closure of all schools in the State till March 31 as a precautionary step against the possible spread of coronavirus that has been raging across the world.

In order to ensure reduction of mass gathering and avoid the spread of COVID-19, the Governor of Manipur has ordered that all government, government-aided and private schools located in the State would remain closed with immediate effect till March 31, 2020 in public interest, said Commissioner (Education-Schools) T Ranjit Singh in a release issued today.

However, all scheduled examinations (both theory and practical) conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur, and the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur, will not be affected, the order said. All DCs and Zonal Education Officers have been asked to ensure compliance with the order.
