Manipur reports 3 more virus deaths

IMPHAL, Nov 22 - Manipur has reported three more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, an official source said here today.

With this, the cumulative number of deaths in the State due to the coronavirus has touched 236.

In the last 24 hours, a 45-year-old man from Thoubal district, a 61-year-old man from Imphal West and 74-year-old man from Bishnupur succumbed to COVID-19 at PHC Mayang Imphal and JNIMS Hospital, said Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director and spokesperson of the Health Department in a press release today.

In the past 24 hours, 306 civilians and 76 Central Armed Police Force personnel were tested positive for COVID-19. The new cases were detected at 18 testing facilities in different parts of the State.

The civilians are from 12 districts, it added. Meanwhile, a total of 205 patients were discharged from 15 COVID care facilities in the past 24 hours, it stated.

The number of positive cases was 23,400 while that of active and recovered cases were 3,146 and 20,018, respectively.
