Manipur recovery rate stands at 87.76 pc

IMPHAL, Dec 8 - With 169 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of cured COVID-19 cases in Manipur reached 23,166 today, officials said. The recovery rate of the State currently stands at 87.76 per cent.

The newly recovered patients were recuperating in 14 COVID care facilities, including 100 under home isolation, the COVID-19 common control room here stated in a press release.

Out of the total of 23,166 recovered cases so far, 20,248 are from the general population and the remaining 2,918 are Central security personnel.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 164 civilians and seven Central Armed Police Forces personnel have been confirmed positive. The new COVID-19 cases were detected at 15 testing facilities in the State.

The new cases from the general population belong to Imphal West (66), Imphal East (58), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (16), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (8), Tamenglong (2), Churachandpur (2), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (2) and Senapati (1), the release added.

On the other hand, two males aged 70 and 71 years from Imphal West expired at the Shija Hospital during the last 24 hours, added the press release. The cumulative number of deaths in Manipur is currently 311.

The COVID-19 tally in the State is 26,396, while the number of active cases is 2,919.
