IMPHAL, June 10 � Manipur outfit Revolutionary People�s Front (RPF) has refuted the news reports that the Army�s Special Forces carried out a surgical strike hitting back at those rebels believed to be responsible for the deadly June 4 ambush in Chandel district.
On Tuesday, even the Additional Director General of Military Operations (A) Major General Ranbir Singh said army have �engaged two separate groups of insurgents along the Indo-Myanmar border at two locations, along the Nagaland and Manipur borders. Significant casualties have been inflicted on them (insurgents).�
However, RPF in a press statement here today said that there was no casualty on their side during the Tuesday morning attack at one of their mobile post in Ukhrul sector of Indo-Myanmar border.
The army team fled from the scene when the outfit retaliated, the release claimed. Later, a patrolling team of the outfit recovered a loaded magazine.
