IMPHAL, May 6 Denouncing Centres move to allow Muivah to visit the State, Opposition Manipur Peoples Party (MPP) has demanded resignation of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on moral ground taking responsibility of the conflicting situation arising out of the proposed entry of Muivah to Manipur.

Leaders of the party also demanded that if Muivah happened to enter the state against government ban on him, he should be arrested and trial should be initiated under the law of the State.

The party has sent memoranda to the Prime Minister and Home Minister expressing party stand with regard to the objection to the entry of Th Muivah terming him as person masterminding disintegrating Manipur and seeking resignation of Chidambaram as Union Home Minister, MPP president, Dr Nimaichand Luwang said.

The State Government must arrest once if he enters Manipur, State Government should prepare for this, RK Anand, the partys MLA said while briefing media in Imphal last evening.

The MPP leaders also admitted that Nagaland Government should take the responsibility for torching six Manipur-bound good laden trucks near Khuzama on May 3 night.

Meanwhile, the All Assam Manipuri Students Union (AAMSU) lauding the April 30 Cabinet decision as necessary denounced the act of arson committed against Manipur trucks in Nagaland. The students union in a release here also cautioned that such actions can invite similar reactions by the miscreants outside Manipur and Nagaland.

Submitting a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India through the Governor of Manipur, United Committee Manipur (UCM) has asked the Government of India to immediately withdraw support to Muivahs entry into Manipur so as to avoid the ongoing unrest in the state.

The memorandum signed by UCM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar asserted that the Government of India was responsible for the extension of the ceasefire with the NSCN (I-M) beyond the territorial limits in 2001 that resulted mass uprising and lost 18 precious lives for the protection of the states territorial integrity of Manipur
