IMPHAL, Nov 25 - Manipur Transport, Tribal Affairs and Hills, and General Administration Minister Vungzagin Valte today inspected the expansion works on National Highway 102B.
The 162-km stretch connecting Churachandpur in Manipur to Mizoram will be expanded into a two-lane road. The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) has taken up the works.
The minister suggested a new alignment to the NHIDCL officials in order to shorten the distance by about 20 km.
The minister also inaugurated a girls� hostel at Sinzawl today. The hostel was constructed by DRDA, Churachandpur.
Valte said he is committed to developing his constituency by concentrating on education, road connectivity and drinking water supply. He urged the people of his constituency to strive for peace and harmony in society.
The minister also inspected the construction of a road from Khazang to Dailo, which is being implemented by PWD, Pherzawl district.
He was accompanied by Churachandpur DC Pawan Yadav, Pherzawl SP David Piaklian and others during the visit.
