Manipur matric results out

IMPHAL, May 25 - Girl students outshone boys by bagging the top three positions in Manipur�s Matric examination this year, the results of which were announced here today.

Sohana Laishram and Naorem Suzanna Devi of Nirmalabas School secured the top two positions while Maibam Vasundhara Devi, from Little Flower School bagged the third position in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2016 conducted by the Manipur Board of Secondary Education.

Sohana secured a total of 576 marks out of 600 marks while Suzanna and Vasundhara scored 570 and 569 marks respectively. The first twenty five positions were bagged by students from private schools with the lone exception of Laishram Amaraj Singh of Govt Gokul High School Bishnupur who bagged the 21st position.

The pass percentage of the examination is 65.37 against 61.5 last year. 6,827 were placed in first division, 12,987 in second and 939 in third. Tamenglong district recorded the highest pass percentage.
