By Correspondent

IMPHAL, June 16 - A mason in Manipurs Churachandpur district on Saturday made an unusual attempt to break the world record by singing one word song non-stop for two-and-a-half hours.

Lalzomlien Gangte(36), a resident of Tuinom in Churachandpur, sang just one word song titled Halleluiah for two hours, 37 minutes and 27 seconds at the Kuki Inpi conference hall in the hill town, about 65 from here.

An active member of a church choir group, he said, The idea is to make my footprint in the music world as a music lover. On choosing the song title, he said, This is just a song of joy to me. Gin Gangte, the supervisor of the record attempt, told this reporter that the motive behind the initiative aims to promote creativity amongst the youngsters who are often engaged with mobile phones and other unproductive activities.

I urge the youngsters to come out with creative ideas, Gin, an employee of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said.

The video footage and other relevant materials will be sent to the Guinness World Records, Limca Book of World Records, Asia Book of Records, and the Indian Book of Records so that they can take a final decision, he added.
