IMPHAL, June 25 - With the country�s presidential election scheduled to be held on July 17, a young NGO leader from Manipur has expressed his desire to fight the election to the country�s top post if he gets signatures of 100 MPs/MLAs.
�MPs/MLAs are requested to support me for nomination to the presidential election,� said Dr Ibochouba Singh Konthoujam, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director & CEO of D-Cacus Education Centre Manipur in a message circulated in the social media.
Forty-two year-old Dr Konthoujam needs support of 100 MPs/MLAs) as seconders & proposers for qualifying the nomination before June 28. �I�m approaching MPs/MLAs in Delhi, Karnataka, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh apart from Manipur, through my friend circle.�
Observers said, a citizen of Manipur to become the President of India would be merely a dream.
