IMPHAL, May 25 � Manipur has an important role to play in the successful implementation of India�s �Act East Policy�, veteran BJP leader Muruli Manohar Joshi said today.
Addressing a party workers meeting, he said with the Centre�s policy looking at boosting ties with ASEAN and East Asian counterparts and Manipur neighbouring Myanmar, the people of the State should always be ready to participate to benefit economically.
Commenting on the law and order situation in the State, Joshi said that if it is bad, then investors from outside the State would not come foreward with their ventures.
Joshi had presided over the closing function of the two-day international conference on �India�s Look East Policy � Act East and South East Asia: Beyond Border� at Manipur University yesterday. � PTI
