Manipur HSLC exam from today

IMPHAL, Feb 19 - A total of 37,323 students, including 18,452 boys and 18,871 girls, will appear in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination, 2019 in Manipur from tomorrow.

The examination, which is scheduled to continue till March 15, will be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BoSEM), in 139 board centres.

BoSEM Chairman Th Kirankumar announced this in a press conference here this morning, which was also attended by BoSEM Secretary Chithung Mary Thomas, Controller (Examinations) K Tiken and other Education Department officials.

Kirankumar said CCTV cameras would be installed in two evaluation centres to monitor the examiners.

�We appeal to the students to study well and maintain good health,� BoSEM Secretary Mary Thomas said.

Controller (Examinations) K Tiken said the DGP of Manipur has been requested to provide necessary security personnel at sensitive examination centres during the course of the examination.

Meanwhile, the District Magistrate of Thoubal has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC within 100-metre radius of 15 examination centres in the district to ensure smooth conduct of the HSLC examination.
