Manipur HS results declared

IMPHAL, May 13 � The results of the Class XII examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) have been announced here this afternoon.

Of the 22,522 students, who appeared in the examination, 13718 came out successful. The results were formally declared this afternoon by Chairman Dr Hamom Nabachandra of the COHSEM, Secretary Ajit Khundrakpam of COHSEM and Additional Director Education (U) RK Yaiskul at a press conference held at the office of the Council here.

Speaking to the media, the Secretary of the Council said that the pass percentage is 76.89. Out of this, 4147 students passed in Arts stream with a pass percentage of 74.53. In Science stream, a total of 12,844 students came out successful, the pass percentage being 77.98, while 327 students passed in Commerce stream with a pass percentage of 67.01.

He further said that altogether 83 students were expelled from different centers for impersonation and using unfair means.

In the 2013 examination, the pass percentage was 81.44% against 82.86% in 2012.Similarly, the pass percentage in 2011 was 75.67% and in 2010 the pass percentage was 76.47%. The records provided by the COHSEM showed that there is a decline in the pass percentage compared to the previous year. According to official records of the COHSEM, Ukhrul district tops this year with a pass percentage of 92.17%, followed by Tamenglong district with 90.2%, while Thoubal district came third with 90.26%. The official record shows that about 67.68% students passed in Imphal West district, 68.97 % in Imphal East, 51% in Bishnupur district, 75.52% in Churachandpur district, 88.29% in Chandel district while 86.9% in Senapati district.
