IMPHAL, March 24 - Manipur Governor V Shanmuganathan has extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Yaoshang and Good Friday.
Stating that Holi festival also known as Yaoshang in the State is celebrated on the onset of Spring by the followers of Hinduism, the Governor said, �The festival is full of fun and frolic laced with spiritualism and exhorts one and all to forget their differences and strengthen their bond of love and affection.�
In a separate message, the Governor said that �Good Friday� epitomises the ultimate sacrifice Lord Jesus made with his life for the good of mankind. On this pious occasion, let us reaffirm our resolution to follow the path of his preachings to attain a world order free from evils.
Meanwhile, the five-day festival began on Wednesday evening with the burning of the �Yaoshang hut�.
